You’ll find lots of healthy recipes here showcasing seasonal produce, and you will find cake. And pastries. And tarts. And more cake. I would never dare to celebrate a holiday without a slice of something sinfully sweet or a glass of champagne. Not into sugar and gluten? No worries. My very first recipe I’m sharing with you is what I call my Green Super Smoothie. It’s super simple and super good for you. I decided to make this my first recipe because it’s been my breakfast for the past week straight. That’s how much I like it. And to be totally honest? I’m not really a green drink fan. I really, really want to be. I dream of being someone who prances to the juice stand after yoga class, ordering an extra large, bright green juice. But once I get up there, I just can’t seem to do it. I’ll usually get something in the orange to pink family (or on really bad days, Chipotle.)

But this green smoothie tastes amazing. It’s refreshing, filling and delicious. It’s also full of fiber, healthy fats and more than half your recommended dose of Vitamin A. And 205 calories!

a warm hello + a green super smoothie
A healthy super-powered green smoothie full of fiber, nutrients + antioxidants.
Recipe type: smoothie
Cuisine: vegan, juice
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 cups of spinach, packed
  • 1½ cups of coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon flax seed
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  1. Blend all the ingredients together in a blender. Make sure that the banana you're using is frozen and that the coconut water is ice cold.
