A healthy super-powered green smoothie full of fiber, nutrients + antioxidants. Plus, this Green Super Smoothie uses only 5 ingredients!
Hello! This is my first official blog post. Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to take a look around. There isn’t much yet, but that will change soon. I can only hope that you become fond of Parsnips & Pastries and find some delicious inspiration along the way. Expect to find a variety of recipes (vegans, carnivores, cake lovers & cheese enthusiasts will all find a place here). Visit my About section to find out a little bit more about me and the inspiration behind the blog. In general, Parsnips & Pastries will be about balance, because that’s how I live my life. You’ll find lots of healthy recipes here showcasing seasonal produce, and you will find cake. And pastries. And tarts. And more cake. I would never dare to celebrate a holiday without a slice of something sinfully sweet or a glass of champagne. Not into sugar and gluten? No worries. There will be more than enough green juices, gluten-free swaps and guiltless noshes.
And, hey! Speaking of green juices…
My very first recipe I’m sharing with you is what I call my Green Super Smoothie. It’s super simple and super good for you. I decided to make this my first recipe because it’s been my breakfast for the past week straight. That’s how much I like it. And to be totally honest? I’m not really a green drink fan. I really, really want to be. I dream of being someone who prances to the juice stand after yoga class, ordering an extra large, bright green juice. But once I get up there, I just can’t seem to do it. I’ll usually get something in the orange to pink family (or on really bad days, Chipotle.)
But this green super smoothie tastes amazing. It’s refreshing, filling and delicious. It’s also full of fiber, healthy fats and more than half your recommended dose of Vitamin A. And 205 calories!

I’m not usually a green drink fan either, lol. They usually look creepy. This was so good though!

noms green smoothie goodness. Flax is so good for you.. as is everything in this, really. Have you tried kale instead of spinach? I really prefer the taste in smoothies. Which is weird because when just eating, i prefer spinach to kale in almost every other sense. Love this blog and the pictures, tiff. Way to go
Thanks, Tati! 🙂 I haven’t tried kale in place of spinach for this recipe. I love kale smoothies, too, but lately I’ve been craving steamed kale or putting it in all my soups/stews! If you try it with kale let me know how it is! 🙂
Wonderful recipe will try it with you when you come visit. ❤️
