WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THIS BLUEBERRY KALE SMOOTHIE?
Holy superfoods, Batman!
Blueberries and kale are two antioxidant powerhouses, which is why we wanted to combine them into one delicious smoothie.
I almost always include greens in my smoothies, as it’s a fantastic way to get a healthy dose of heart-healthy greens and cut down on the sugar content all-fruit smoothies can have.
The blueberries really mellow out kale’s bitterness here, and just look at that gorgeous purple hue.
One serving of this Blueberry Kale Smoothie has:
→ 180 calories.
→ 20% of your daily recommended fiber.
→ A healthy dose of calcium, potassium, vitamin C, and iron.
What are the Benefits of Blueberries?
Kale isn’t the only powerhouse in this drink. Tiny, but mighty blueberries more than carry their weight in health benefits.
In fact, blueberries are believed to have one of the highest antioxidant levels of all common fruits and vegetables to the point where they are known to increase your body’s overall antioxident levels. For all the calorie counters out there, blueberries are super low in calories but high in fiber, vitamin C, and vitamin K.
This super berry has also been shown to promote skin health, boost brain function, and help protect against heart disease and cancer.
What are the Benefits of Kale?
The health benefits of kale could certainly take up an entire post on its own.
For summation’s sake, kale has the top vitamins and minerals per munch, as it’s one of the most nutrient dense foods. Kale is also known to help reduce cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease.
This hearty green is a great source of vitamin C, vitamin K, fiber, potassium, and calcium.
Smoothies are meant to be convenient and helpful. After all, if you’re going to turn solids into liquids, it ought to be for a reason, no?
We keep the ingredients super simple and easy for this kale and blueberry smoothie. The main purpose for this recipe is the ease and health benefits – without sacrificing taste! Grab a high-quality blender (Amazon has great deals!) and get in the healthy habit of making a smoothie – instead of reaching for processed fast food – when time is limited.

Omg this smoothie is amazing I followed the recipe for the most part I substituted the sliced banana for 1 cup of frozen mango ( I had no more bananas) and added a splash of extra Almond milk and did ground ginger instead of fresh because I didn’t have fresh ginger and added a scoop of the collagen , I was quite skeptical cause of the ginger plus kale of course, I shocked myself with the end results it was so delicious, definitely would added this to my list of favorites smoothies

Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Very gingery!! I love it. The trick to make your kale smooth and not chunky is first add your kale in the blender and then your milk and blend. Then add the fruits one at a time. Frozen last. Also don’t forget to sharpen your blades. Wonderful texture and always makes a lot. Still working on it as we speak lol.

Kale. Gross. The thought of it (the taste of it)?
This recipe works. It’s packed with flavor, vitamins, minerals, and “good stuff.”
I can do my kale with this.
I made a double batch to enjoy more tomorrow.

I made this with Agave 5 instead of honey. The calories calculated in my app came out to 249, not 150 as the recipe says. Don’t know that the kale ever gets smooth, but tasty, nonetheless.

I love blueberries in my smoothies but don’t love that they leave stuff in my teeth. Wish I could figure out how to avoid that. Love that you added ginger to your smoothie, that’s a great idea – I have a bunch of blueberries and ginger lying around so I’m gonna try this!
Yummm, blueberries are my favorite fruit to put into smoothies and I have been experimenting a lot more with adding greens! I can’t wait to try this out!
