Refreshing Chardonnay Al Fresco is the perfect party drink—fresh and light, this cocktail is crafted with fresh lime and cucumber.
What do you like to sip on game day?
The boys generally gravitate towards beer or something bottled, but lately I’ve been trying to ‘elevate’ our sports viewing parties a bit.
Recently I’ve been in love with wine cocktails. They’re light, refreshing, and perfect for pairing with your typically heavier party foods.
The best part about wine cocktails is that you can really add any flavor profile you’d like.
For our Chardonnay Al Fresco cocktails, we pair just 4 simple ingredients: Frontera Chardonnay, cucumber, lime, and simple syrup. The sweet-and-sour combination that follows is fresh, vibrant, light, and incredibly tasty.
For my wine cocktail, I choose Frontera wine, which is perfect to pair with my game day recipes and a wine that everyone happens to love.
For something different and unique, I like to host a tapas-style basketball viewing. These Chardonnay Al Fresco cocktails pair really well with tapas such as Spanish cheeses, chorizo, marinated olives, and patatas bravas with aioli.
Tapas are a great game day choice. Since they’re all two-bite finger foods, they’re perfect for snacking on while watching the game. A tapas spread is a unique addition to your next sports viewing party, and a welcomed change from your typical chips and dip. This Chardonnay Al Fresco pairs perfectly with this spread, but a Paloma Blanca or Happy Place Sangria (all made with Frontera wines) would be lovely as well.

This looks really lovely and refreshing – perfect for summer and it seems like the cucumber and dime wouldn’t be too overpowering. You’d still be able to taste the wine!
Definitely, Emma. I will definitely be sipping these on my porch this summer! The cucumber and lime offers a really balanced flavor, nothing is overpowering. It’s a lovely light cocktail!
