I’m actually a really huge fan of meal delivery boxes. And I think I’ve tried pretty much all of them!
They’re convenient, definitely. But what I love most about them is getting the chance to try new recipes I may have otherwise never tried. And they’re really fun.
I just tried a new one, Gobble, and I wanted to review it because it’s definitely one of my new favorites.
The thing that’s a bit different about Gobble is that the meals are only 10 minutes. This is really convenient for busy families who still want to eat a healthy home-cooked meal.
I think Gobble would be especially great for new moms, busy couples who still want to have a fun date night, or anyone who’s just learning how to cook or trying to become more comfortable cooking.
“No shopping, chopping, or thinking required” sounds pretty good to me sometimes, I’m not gonna lie.
Last week I had a ton of deadlines, sponsorships, and I was finishing a large freelance writing project that required in-depth research. It was the perfect week to try Gobble. I was burnt out and did not feel like cooking.
Gobble works just like most meal boxes where you can choose your own meals. You choose three meals a week for either 2 or 4 people between about a dozen options. There are vegetarian meals and “Certified Gobble Kid Friendly” meals in addition to gluten-free and dairy-free preferences.
Each meal requires no prep or chopping and requires only one pan. There’s minimal clean-up and dinner is on the table in 10 minutes!

Gobble Meal Box Review
My honest Gobble meal box review, from price point to quality to, most importantly, taste!
The Meals I Chose:
For my first Gobble meal box I chose: Brown Sugar Crusted King Salmon with Smashed Avocado and Tomato Vinaigrette, Blackened Prime Sirloin Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Baby Carrots, and Salsa Verde Spinach Enchiladas with Corn and Black Bean Rice.
The Taste:
I thoroughly enjoyed all of these meals! The flavors were all incredibly balanced. The salmon had a brown sugar glaze that was also slightly spicy. The Chipotle Butter that came with the blackened steaks was insanely good. The enchiladas were full of flavor and the salsa verde had quite a bit of heat. I loved the potatoes in the filling. The steaks came with my favorite side dishes (seared baby carrots and a poblano and corn mashed potato). The corn and black bean rice that accompanied the enchiladas was a bit bland, but nothing a bit of seasoning didn’t fix. I also really enjoyed the pearl couscous that paired with the salmon. With the toybox tomatoes, Persian cucumbers, smashed avocado, and bright tomato vinaigrette, that dish was really bright and perfect for summer. That was my favorite dish overall, I wish I had the recipe for the brown sugar crust!
Freshness + Quality:
I was actually surprised at the freshness and quality of Gobble’s products. Many past meal subscription boxes I’ve tried from other companies came with bruised ingredients or not the highest quality produce. All of the produce in Gobble was very fresh and seasonal. Gobble states on their website that they work with local farms and purveyors to source their ingredients. I like that it told me on the recipe card where they sourced the King Salmon from. Everything is par-cooked and vacuum sealed in bags to remain fresh (except any fresh produce).
Health Factor + Portion Size:
Each of the Gobble meals clock in at around 700-900 calories. Since you can choose your own meals, you can definitely choose how healthy you’d like to eat for that week. I like to choose at least one vegetarian meal, too, and the Enchiladas did not disappoint! You can also control the amount of salt and oil that you use. Cheese and other components are separated as well, so you can control the amount of cheese you use or even make a meal dairy-free. I felt like the portion sizes were right-on for most things, except the mashed potatoes which were pretty skimpy and definitely not the amount they showed in the photo but less than half of that. (For my photo of the steaks above, I plated it with two servings of the mashed potato just for the sake of the picture.)
Time + Convenience:
Gobble meals really do take just ten minutes! I didn’t believe it myself but they do. Enchiladas in ten minutes? Yes, please! Many of the ingredients and components are already cooked (the enchilada filling, the mashed potatoes, the couscous or rice). You really only cook the fresh produce and the protein, and assemble. I was concerned the meals would have a “prepared” taste to them since a lot of the ingredients are pre-cooked, but they didn’t. All of the meals tasted really fresh, and the quality of the meat and seafood was great.
Affordability:
Each meal with Gobble is $11.95, which I think is really affordable for what you get. I mean, my box included salmon and steak, and tasted just as good as a meal I’d have at most restaurants, but for half the price.
The Details:
You can “skip” your weekly meals with Gobble, just like most other meal delivery boxes, and you can cancel at anytime. You also don’t have to be home in order to receive the box, as it arrives in temperature-controlled packaging. You can view your Recipe Cards digitally through your Gobble dashboard, too, in case you ever lose a card. Right now, Gobble is offered in Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, California, Idaho, and Utah. But they plan on offering it in other states soon.
Verdict:
My Gobble meal box review verdict is that I thought the Gobble meal box was delicious, worth the money, and incredibly convenient! The only negative point I had was that for my enchiladas meal, I did not receive the tortillas. Not a big deal to go purchase them, but I could see it being an issue if you didn’t plan on going to the store. At least it was a really cheap ingredient to purchase. 😉 I definitely plan on using Gobble box again, especially for those busy and stressful weeks. It’s really hard, nearly impossible, to get a healthy and delicious meal on the table in under 10 minutes, and I think Gobble is worth trying just for that.

Fifteen minutes? Yeah right! Try forty five minutes in food prep, 2 hours to order the food and 2 more hours to try to cancel your subscription. I’d like to seriously see ANYBODY make a gobble meal in fifteen minutes or less. You have to dice the material, then cook everything seperately. The siracha shrimp, chicken salad, and beef enchilada was pretty good. I didn’t like the added jalapenos and believe that steak would have been a better substitute to hamburger. We got a portion of four for our family and it really wasn’t enough food. I have a two and a three year old and I don’t eat much. It is small portions. To be honest, I believe that yummly is a better and cheaper option. It takes less time to find recipes you like on the website because it is more user friendly and doesn’t crash on you. You also can get a generated grocery list and have it delivered to your door step without a subscription to hell that you can never ever cancel.
Their website is not functional and I had to call in four times and write two emails in order to use the gobble Groupon that we purchased. Then they sent me a text that I had to cancel and gave me 24 hours to cancel. I texted, called, emailed and tried logging into their account but couldn’t get a hold of anyone. I have proof that I did this before the deadline and when Ismael the customer service rep responded days later said it was too late to cancel. I would highly suggest going with any other food delivery service other than Gobble.
I do not really have time to plan, cook, and serve dinner sometimes because how busy I am. I think that these meal kits will help a lot!!!
Oh I love this idea considering it’s so time effective. Really, only ten minutes? I feel like dinner always takes me way longer to make than I anticipate, so this could be great for me.
I love the convenience of meal boxes. This is my first time hearing about Gobble. I like the sound of those enchiladas.
Gobble sounds wonderful in that it’s affordable and they are only 10 minute meals! We are always on the go and in a hurry so that is definitely a plus!
That gobble meal box looks delicious I’ve tried to order online a meal box and I really enjoy it. and I will give this a try.
I have been trying to eat healthier lately myself and love coming across posts like this. This seems like a great plan with lots of different variety. Thanks, fo sharing.
I’ve just recently started appreciating meal kits. Haven’t heard of Gobble before, will have to take a look at their site!
That box has some yummy recipes in it. I would love to make that salmon recipe.
Now this sounds like a subscription box I want to try. I hate those days when I want something quick for dinner and nothing in the house falls into that category. This is much better option then eating out! I like that that vegetarian options too. My daughter would love that.
These are some great photos and after reading this I think I would want to try them out. Subscription boxes can be hit or miss, but this one seems very much like a hit as I really like the idea of healthy within ten minutes angle.
