Jicama Strawberry Salsa is a quick and easy salsa that’s perfect for spring and summer. This salsa is refreshing, healthy, sweet, and spicy!
I absolutely love fruit salsas. Pineapple, mango, and peach are probably the most common when it comes to creating sweet and spicy salsas.
But strawberries, a fruit you don’t see too often in a salsa, are absolutely delicious.
Fresh, ripe strawberries work really well in savory preparations. Here, this strawberry salsa gets a refreshing crunch from jicama, a spicy heat from jalapeño, a bit of floral sweetness from honey, and plenty of acidity from lots of fresh lime. Both fresh mint and cilantro add a punch of delicate, bright flavor.
We’ve been eating way too much of this strawberry and jicama salsa and I plan on making it for Cinco de Mayo tomorrow!
Since this salsa takes just minutes to make, it’s the perfect last-minute addition to your summer shindigs.
Plus, it’s very customizable. While I could eat it from the spoon, here’s a few more ways you can use this salsa and how to customize it:
Strawberry Salsa Variations and Ideas
– If you want this strawberry salsa spicier, keep the jalapeño seeds. If you want it more mild, you can add half a jalapeño instead of a whole one.
– You can add half a small red onion (finely diced) or some chopped green onions to this salsa, if you’d like.
– This salsa is delicious as-is with chips for any summer BBQ or party. It is also a wonderful with grilled chicken, tacos, or made into a salad. I like to add chopped avocado to this strawberry salsa and serve it over greens for a quick no-cook meal.
– To make this salsa vegan, replace the honey with agave.
