Here’s a bit about Cocoa. What Cocoa lacks in grace, she makes up for in charm. She’s funny, sweet, clumsy, loud, and loves to be pet. Her top five favorite things are daddy, me (yes I’m second, that’s fine... it’s fine), cheese, walks, and barking at anything that passes on the porch. She also loves hikes, apples, grandma’s roasted chicken, road trips, massages, and snuggling in our bed. She dislikes anything that moves faster than her, thunder (aka “boom booms”), when people play rock-paper-scissors, dry food (she’s an expensive dog), squirrels, and when people don’t share their cheese.

Is it the new normal, or a temporary set back? No one can know. ⠀

But here’s what I do know. This has given me time, which is the most precious and valuable currency in life. Time to think, reinvent, strengthen, heal, and assess. Time to be more kind, more thoughtful, more grateful, and more careful. Time to realize what I need and what I don’t, and to never take either for granted when I have the ability to choose again. ⠀
